This started as super stripped down demo, using horrible Casio sounds. Bit by bit, I began replacing elements which went on for years.
Mike Sylvia is a beastly drummer. We cut these drums in his home studio using a handful of takes. He hits the skins without mercy. Jeff McErlain cut the solo in his NYC apartment. To say the absolute least, he took a stab at it. We are still in disbelief with what came back. Oddly, the bass guitar was the last element to be recorded, and during the mix phase. It just seemed sinful not having a bass part, and I have Mark to thank for the Sunder Thunder.
It truly took the full length of the album to assemble all these pieces and so it claimed it's rightful place as the closer.
